Taylor Fritz’s girlfriend Morgan Riddle jokingly teased him for his reluctance to sing along with American popstar Taylor Swift during their car trip.

Fritz recently reached the US Open quarterfinals for the first time in his career. Having failed to make the third round of his home major in seven previous main draw appearances, the American reached the last eight at this year’s edition of the event without losing a single set.

However, he was unable to advance further in the tournament as he suffered his eighth consecutive defeat to eventual champion Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals.

The 25-year-old has since been enjoying some quality time with his girlfriend Morgan Riddle. As Riddle documented on social media, the pair took a weekend trip to Palm Springs, California.

While enjoying a scenic drive together, Taylor Fritz was encouraged by his girlfriend to sing along to Taylor Swift’s hit song ‘Picture to Burn’. However, the Americans were reluctant to showcase their singing abilities.

“Go ahead. Go ahead,” Riddle said.

“I’m not going to sing along,” replied Fritz.

Riddle shared a clip of the incident on social media, which revealed that Fritz knew the lyrics to the song but was not prepared to sing on camera.

“He knows all the words but won’t sing on camera,” she posted on her Instagram Story.

Ahead of her campaign at the 2023 US Open, Taylor Fritz, who shares her first name with the American popstar, was questioned about people accidentally confusing her name with Taylor Swift. While Fritz acknowledged that mix-ups were a common occurrence, he said he was not bothered by it.

“Yeah, I hear a lot of people say Taylor Swift instead of Taylor Fritz, I don’t really see that many similarities. I don’t know. It’s funny when it happens. I don’t really care about it, obviously ” He said.

Coincidentally, the world No. 8 was mistakenly called Taylor Swift during her campaign at the New York Major.

Taylor Fritz’s girlfriend Morgan Riddle recently shared information about the couple’s future plans. In an interview with Tatler magazine, the social media influencer revealed that although she and Fritz plan to eventually tie the knot, her current focus is on furthering her career.

“That’s the plan to some extent but I’m in no rush. We’re both really focused on our careers and I don’t even know when we’ll have time to get married,” she said.

After previously sharing her desire for “little WTA babies,” the 26-year-old reiterated her and Fritz’s mutual desire for daughters who would grow up to be tennis players.

“Yes, we want girls to be tennis players,” he said.

Fritz and Riddle, who initially joined celebrity dating app Raya in 2020, celebrated their three-year anniversary in June this year.
